The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Nové Město na Moravě (CZE) is a true mountain bike classic, especially for the cross-country specialists. A small town surrounded by an endless forest and hundreds of ponds and streams, Nové Město na Moravě is nestled in beautiful countryside. Conveniently positioned right in the middle of the Czech Republic, the charming area has been a natural recreational centre for decades.

This picturesque region is well-recognisable thanks to the large number of charming little villages with numerous well-maintained, rustic farms spread over the highlands at an altitude of around 750 metres above sea level. 

The mountain bike history of this place stretches back to 2011 when the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup was held here for the very first time. It has maintained its strong position in the World Cup calendar: since Nové Město joined the series, no other venue has been voted in the annual UCI poll as the Best Event of the Cross-country season.

The course itself has long been a rider favourite, combining high impact hits of both punchy climbs and fast, technical, all-or-nothing descents  - which makes for one of the most action packed endurance spectacles of the year. The pace is high and the racers face no let-up in front of one of the season's biggest crowds. 

The Cross-country Marathon course for 2023 will be brand-new and offers amateurs the opportunity to race at one of the most famous venues on the circuit. 

This race weekend is a favourite for many riders: they always look forward to the technically demanding course, modern and comfortable arena, but mainly to the roaring atmosphere with thousands of fans frantically cheering all riders, no matter where they are from. And it’s the fans that make Nové Město so special – they are wild and they are loud! Mountain bike world, welcome to the heart of Europe, welcome to Nové Město na Moravě!
