With a rich history of hosting international bike events, starting from the 2008 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships and all the way to the upcoming 2023 UCI MTB World Cup, Val di Sole has cemented its reputation as a premier destination for the sport, deserving the recognition as UCI Bike City Region.
The Val di Sole Bikeland is a true playground for mountain bikers, offering something for every level of rider. The World's top downhill riders will face off on the infamous "Black Snake," while Cross-country stars will tackle the technical and demanding course that has proven a favourite for legends like Nino Schurter.
Val di Sole has forged a reputation as being mountain biking’s cathedral of speed. It pushes riders and bikes to the very limit with both Cross-country and Downhill tracks coated in an ultra fine dust which offers little traction when dry and even less again when wet - it rewards only the brave.
With over 300km of high-altitude trails, six brand-new Alpine Gravel itineraries, two bike parks for gravity enthusiasts, iconic road biking routes and a 35km cycle path along the Noce River, there's truly something for every type of cyclist to explore.
Val di Sole's commitment to sustainability is evident, with the valley providing bike-friendly services such as bike trains and buses, bike hotels, as well as implementing sustainable measures to reduce the impact of major events on the surrounding landscape. The 2022 UCI MTB World Cup was the first Carbon Neutral event hosted in Val di Sole, thanks to their collaboration with Climate Partner on compensation projects.
