Surrounded by iconic mountains such as the Marmolada and Gran Vernel, next to the very climbs that have written glorious pages of world cycling history, including Passo Pordoi and Passo Sella, - is where you will find Val di Fassa Bike District.
On the 24 - 25 June 2023, Val di Fassa welcomes the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup 2023, an achievement that has long been in the sights of the local mountain bike leadership.
The UCI Mountain Bike Cup event will take place in Canazei, with paddock and expo areas, together with the trackside show of the Enduro World Cup (EDR) and E-Enduro World Cup (EDR-E) competitions.
The network of trails and alpine routes specifically dedicated to mountain bikes is endless, with diverse routes that cover a great distance and take you to truly breath-taking scenery. To date, the bike park hosts 18 trails with different levels of difficulty, spread over the slopes around the valley, in and out of the woods, and includes some more natural lines - with easy access thanks to eight modern and fast lifts by Fassa Lift.
It is a riding hotspot on the rise, a complete offer of bike-focussed services and activities and another reason for this region to be more and more renowned all over the world. This will be a great event that will offer you an exclusive perspective on our mountains and on the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup universe alike.
Here is all the information and details to know about the UCI Enduro World Cup race in Val di Fassa Trentino.
THE COURSE
Val di Fassa is a unique race course thanks to its setting amongst the breathtaking scenery of the Dolomites. Some of the stages are accessed by lifts, allowing athletes to experience incredibly diverse terrain that features forests, meadows and Alpine streams and includes both natural trail and expertly crafted man-made singletrack.
The racecourse will be announced on Monday, June 19.
EVENT VILLAGE
At the heart of the event is the expo area, alongside the team pits, the start and finish stage which this year will move from the centre of Canazei to a more open area to allow more spectators.
This new location will not only offer the possibility to follow the race on the giant screen with real-time results and live announcing, but also to immerse themselves in the culture of Val di Fassa. Inside the event village, visitors will have the opportunity to taste local products of Trentino and have an aperitif while waiting to see the competitors descend from the last special stage, among food trucks and the Bait de CA' hut. Acqua Cedea and Trento Doc will provide quality water and wines in the VIP area.
Adjacent to the paddock will be the Skills Area and the Pump Track, with free access for everyone, adults and children. For friends and families there is also a children's playground and the Canazei Fun Park. Near the Event Village is the departure of the Canazei-Pecol cable car, to reach the stages and cheer from the edge of the course, as well as to enjoy amazing views of the UNESCO World Heritage designated Dolomites.
BIKE ACCESS AND SPECTATORS
For accompanying persons who still want to ride a bike, the Bike District of Val di Fassa will have some open trails not affected by the race but still served by lifts.
For spectators who want to go to the race course to cheer, it will be possible to use the FassaLift facilities to reach the special stages, and the most spectacular points for the public will be marked on the map.
For sports enthusiasts who want to see what this territory offers beyond biking, it is possible to book their outdoor experience at the Fassa Sport Check Point.
