For UCI Enduro World Cup season openers, it’s hard to beat Italy’s Finale Outdoor Region for location, trails, community, and history. The area is woven into the fabric of Enduro thanks to its role as a regular curtain closer during the format’s Enduro World Series (EWS) years.
Last year, Finale Ligure hosted the curtain opener of the UCI Enduro World Cup and the Finale Outdoor Region retains this position in the 2025 UCI Enduro World Cup calendar, albeit basing itself in nearby Pietra Ligure when it hosts the format’s first round on May 9-11.

Where is it?
The Finale Outdoor Region is located 80km west of Genoa (Italy) and 125km east of Nice (France) in the heart of the Italian Riviera. To its south lies the Mediterranean coast, but it's the hills to the region’s north where the adrenaline-fuelled action takes place. It’s in these high grounds above the municipalities of Pietra Ligure and Finale Ligure where a sprawling network of trails has been lovingly constructed over three decades by a dedicated community of mountain bikers. Full of raw, technical, natural lines, the area is a true test worthy of its season-starting status.
What’s the course like?
While the stages for the 2025 WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in Pietra Ligure – Finale Outdoor Region are yet to be confirmed, the wealth of options on offer means that athletes and fans are guaranteed some epic two-wheeled action. In 2024, Supergroppo (7.2km with 653m descent) was the highlight of the racing but event organisers are sure to test riders against the region’s other offerings.
The 2024 overall series winners Richie Rude (Yeti/Fox Factory Team) and Harriet Harnden (Trek Factory Gravity) got their title hunt off to the strongest possible starts in Finale Outdoor Region. But previous success is no guarantee in the Italian region – particularly in the men’s field, where Rude is the only two-time winner since its first EWS round in 2013.
In addition to the elite competition, the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in Pietra Ligure, Finale Outdoor Region, will also offer amateurs the chance to go between the race tape in Enduro Open races.
A classic Finale Outdoor Region race of rocky trails, coastal views and the true enduro experience.
